About Jim...
Husband, Doting Father of 6, Health Activist, Health,Life Exercise Fanatic and Motivational Public Speaker seeks your help to save our health! Aging with style and guile is my thing! I also publish Weight Loss Solutions 360 online magazine, always looking for inspirational stories! Contact me at ManVsAge_hotmail.comWhat is ManVsAge About?Living, Eating, Fitness, Happiness – I am renown for sharing my emotional inspiration and personal fitness and lifestyle tips and tricks with people of all ages and from all walks of life. I put together the Man Vs Age program to show that at any age you can quickly regain your health and vitality without spending a fortune –and it works. These routines have made me healthier and happier! Here’s the thing – so much misinformation about health is out there, and there’s so little time to find the truth – well everything I write, talk about or recommend is the truth based on my own knowledge and experience. I am a working father of six children ranging in age from 14 to 1 year old. I have helped deliver them at home with my wonderful wife Louise (the last was unassisted). We have raised them together, working from home everyday for the last 15 years. At 52 years of age (or young depending upon your point of view) I have reached an important realization about life, love, health, parenting and aging - the key to truly enjoying who you have become is to learn from the errors which you may have made in life, and focus on the “now”. So, what can I help you to improve? For a start, you have to use what your mama gave you – a body, mind and spirit – which is an engine which you will need to take care of now! I have made so many mistakes, but I have never hesitated on my journey to try and improve myself, and it continues to pay off into my “middle age” (…I feel like this is my first age). I am often told that I look and seem so much younger than my real age…I find compliments hard to take, because I am certainly not vain or egotistical, but over time I have learned to accept that I am in am in far better mental and physical shape than many people half my age!All I am interested in is being able to be the best I can be, and as “young” as I can for my wonderful wife and my 6 incredible young children. No short cuts or excuses for me or for you! What hacks me off is that these same people attribute this to my having good genes, or for the fact that for most of my life (until recent years) I was financially very comfortably off.Well let tell you a secret here people – that there is NO secret to my anti-aging process – but there is a method, which does involves hard work, self-discipline, and a willingness to learn. I was able to do this even though I lost my fortune a few years ago, and my method saw me through many hard times. “Anti-aging” is so often used as a way of selling expensive “cures and remedies” – you know the type of thing, facial collagen, human growth hormone and vitamin shots and medical procedures. Apart for the fact that so many of these quick fixes are unnatural, frequently harmful, and fail to provide long-term solutions - I couldn’t afford them even if I had wanted to use them.Rev Your Engine...So Man Vs Age was borne from my own natural and inexpensive ways to reboot and maintain my body’s engine – nothing harmful, synthetic, or lining the medical industry’s coffers. Your body is designed to rejuvenate - it is just that the ability to do so lessens with age (especially if you have an unhealthy lifestyle). I learned simple methods to slow down that process (and to even reverse degenerative disease like severe osteo-arthritis, which I suffered from 12 years ago) in your body, and taught them to my family and friends. This passion has become a business for me – I live to help others and to reach as many people as possible – so my ways are simple, cheap and effective, within the reach of everyone!I have made many mistakes in my life, but I have never hesitated on my journey to try and improve myself, and it continues to pay off into my “middle age” (…I feel like this is my first age). I am often told that I look and seem so much younger than my real age. Now let me tell you that I do find compliments hard to take, because I am certainly not vain or egotistical - but over time I have learned to accept that I am in am in far better mental and physical shape than many people half my age!All I am interested in is being able to be the best I can be, and as “young” as I can for my wonderful wife and my 6 incredible young children. No short cuts or excuses for me or for you! What sometimes hacks me off is that these same people attribute my good health to my having good genes, or for the fact that for most of my life (until recent years) I was financially very comfortably off.The Secret - actually there is no secret just sense...So as you now know I had severe arthritis 12 years ago, and was almost penniless for a couple of years – so do you still think that it’s all about those great genes??Of course not – stuff happens in life and getting healthy gets you through it and keeps you young. I am in great shape, I am able to exercise for an hour with an average heart rate of 165 beats per minute, sprint 100 meters in 11 seconds, and keep up with the youngsters. I have not been a gym for four years though – I have free weights and kettlebells, and my family and I exercise in our tiny living room at home! As for my diet? Well you know that for the best part of a year, my wife and I often went hungry…I cannot recommend enforced fasting as a key to better health…but what it taught me was to exercise portion control. When you have to make a decision about how many pieces of a cut tomato you can afford to eat, it really focuses your mind. I was never a big eater, but this was ridiculous; - but totally necessary! So here I am today – all this - recovering from financial disaster, running two businesses, a charity, a string of wonderful children…so what’s your excuse?
